Posting on behalf of Jim Rockett:

Hi All:

I want to give a heads up/reminder to everybody about the upcoming NH Jr Bassmasters Spring Rally and Conservation Day on Saturday, May 19 at 9:00 AM. Since this is the first time this event will be held, let me explain what it is all about.

Two important parts of belonging to B.A.S.S are conservation and giving back. This event combines the two. Wentworth State Park has been the host of our STQT for the last two years. It is a great venue and allows families a comfortable place to wait for their anglers while they fish. Due to budget constraints things are tough and park management can use some help getting ready for the season. We can say "Thanks" by showing up as a group and helping them pick up the winter debris, moving some picnic tables, etc. Whatever they need we should be able to do. This will qualify as our Conservation Event and "payback" the park staff.

The second part of the day will be a tackle/gear giveaway. I have obtained some sponsorship of the event from a few people. A member of Bassboatcentral.net has stepped up and donated boxes of tackle. Lures, line, weights, hooks, etc., it is all there. In addition, he gave us rods and reels. I found a few, too, and have over a dozen combos to give away.
Bottleggers Footwear, along with Teva, has stepped up and given us hoodies, tees, hats-all kinds of good stuff. Everything is free, you just have to show up and pitch in for a couple hours or so.

After the cleanup we will divvy up the gear and go fishing. I have put out the word for some boaters to come to the lake and take some kids fishing for a couple hours after we are done. You should be out of there around 3:00-3:30 PM

I know that a lot of you younger anglers can use some gear, so here is your chance to grab some. All you have to do is show up and work for it. Pretty simple.

Please be at Wentworth State Park by 8:45-9:00 AM on the 19th. Try and bring a rake
so we can clean up pinecones, etc. It won't be hard work if we get a bunch of people pitching in.

Boater are welcome and encouraged to come! If you wish to help at the park that will be awesome, but not expected. Go fish and just pull up on the beach around noon. The kids can use all the help you are willing to give.

If you have any questions please email me or give me a ring at 603-860-5324. A heads up that you are coming will be appreciated, too. See you on the 19th!

Regards,
Jim Rockett
