Subject: Senate Bill 224
Dear Committee members,
The fate of Senate Bill 224, with associated changes to RSA 211:13-b.IV and
RSA 339:77, is now in your capable hands. Having been to the Senate
Committee hearing, been part of the ad hoc committee chaired by the Fish &
Game department, and done extensive research on the subject, I feel it is
necessary to recommend "killing" the bill unless reasonable changes are
made.
I request that each of you read the Attachment which lays out concisely the
reasoning behind the bill, the false assumptions made by the proponents, the
harm the bill will do to both users and sellers of the affected products,
the limitations of the bill, and the recommended alternatives which strike a
reasonable balance between the desires of the Loon Preservation Committee
and the needs of the bass fishing community and tackle retailers.
If I can be of further assistance to your Committee in the evaluation
process, please do not hesitate to call on me.
Respectfully,
Gary L. Clark, President
